I have tried a bunch of different apps but MySongbook is by far the most flexible and easy to use one. If highlighting of text phrases will be implemented in some future updates Id appreciate it. Thanks.
I as a singer use it for rehearsals and on concerts. Perfect for arranging set lists. Nice scroll function and import/ export feature.
This app is my dream come true. I wanted an app I could put my worship binder in and edits the songs on the fly and add my songs I am writing and create tags and have song lists for certain evenings. This app does it all and then some. Hats off gentlemen!! Amazing!!!
Sooo easy to use, clear and uncomplicated. I am getting rid of my 10 pound binder of songs and using only this app. You can copy and paste lyrics, easily enter chords which appear above lyrics in colour of your choice, add "sticky note" on song page for reminders. Table Of Contents can be viewed alphabetically, by genre, by tags, or search feature. Also create set list for performance. Pages can be viewed both vertically & horizontally. Auto scrolling is very useful and variable speed. Too many features to list. Developer is always improving this app and gives users great support!
Over-all the app works well. More control over font size would be helpful such as two font sizes in same screen. One for lyric and one for tab. One bigger and one smaller. On tag screen I cant get out of delete or I cant create a tag anymore. Other than that it works well.
Im a gigging musician recommending this app to other gigging musicians! This app is great! Put it on your iPad and youve got all your lyrics and chords ready at anytime! Very well thought out. Easy to use for basic use but check the settings and fully understand all the other features this app offers like font size, chord displays, import/export/backup function etc. Metronome and scroll settings. Very pleased with this app.
Some bad moments
So bad that there is no option to synchronize app on Macbook and on iPad.
In home i like use computer, but on the rehearsal i love to use ipad.
Also should be there "live" mode - many people use iPad on stage. It would be be good to have one "page" - screen with whole song..
You should develop this app. Ive paid 10$ for macbook and 5$ for ipad and I cant use both:(
This app is a great idea... But it wont open! It is only a black screen! Please fix it!
This would be a much more useful app if you could tilt and read your chord charts sideways/ horizontally instead of just up and down.
Also if you could preset your own scrolling speeds for each song.
I would love this app and give it 5 stars with those improvements.
I just purchased this app assuming that it was an update of an earlier product that was named the same. What was found was that it is difficult to navigate and there is no search capability that was part of the old product. When going to the apps help section, it was under construction and not available. I did ask for a credit to my account and I would be happy to delete this app. It does not deliver what it says it will as far as I am concerned
Just dont get it. I thought I could search and save chord charts. Writing in songs is hard. Poor UI/UX.
I rarely take the time to write reviews, but Ive been looking for an app like this for so long, and to finally have it is such a relief.
I use this as a songwriting tool. "The song Im writing moves from the I - the flat II... How do other songs I love follow that change?" Now I have those kinds of answers available. Make tags like "space" and "nostalgic," and next time youre trying to evoke those feelings, analyze other songs that express the same emotions to see how they got there.
Even better, it looks like the app is constantly improving. Low-star reviews seem to be from users who want this app to be something it isnt. If you want a dynamic database of your songs and songs you love, which can easily shift around to suit your needs, this is an irreplaceable tool.
